Thanksgiving suggestions or recipes?

Im going to cook Thanksgving dinner for the 1st time and I need a menu and some suggestions on how to cut Ham and a TurkeyThanksgiving suggestions or recipes?
Easy Crockpot Turkey Breast

1 whole turkey breast, thawed

陆 cup of Water (yep, that's all you need!)

1 Packet of Ranch Dressing Mix

1 Packet of Italian Dressing Mix

1 Packet of Turkey or Chicken Gravy Mix

Put breast in crockpot, pour water around the base. Sprinkle all 3 dry seasoning packets over roast. Cover and cook for 6-7 hours on low. Remove to cutting board and let sit 15 minutes; slice thinly across the grain (electric knife works best).

It makes great tasting gravy, too, to go along with this tender, moist turkey.

Perfect Roast Turkey

1 fresh turkey (12 pounds)

Kosher salt

Freshly ground black pepper

1 large bunch of fresh thyme

1 lemon, halved

3 Spanish onions

1 head garlic, halved crosswise

4 tablespoons butter (1/2 stick), melted

1/2 cup good olive oil

8 carrots, peeled and cut into 2-inch chunks

10 red new potatoes, halved

3 heads fennel, fronds removed, cut into wedges through the core

Preheat the oven to 350潞F.

Take the giblets out of the turkey and wash the turkey inside and out. Remove any excess fat and leftover pinfeathers and pat the outside dry. Place the turkey in a large roasting pan. Liberally salt and pepper the inside of the turkey cavity. Stuff the cavity with the thyme, lemon, one of the onions (quartered), and the garlic. Brush the outside of the turkey with the butter and sprinkle with salt and pepper. Tie the legs together with string and tuck the wing tips under the body of the turkey. Peel and slice the remaining onions, toss them with 1/4 cup olive oil, and scatter them around the turkey.

Roast the turkey for 1 hour. Toss the carrots, potatoes, and fennel with 1/4 cup olive oil and add to the roasting pan. Continue to roast for about 1陆 hours, or until the juices run clear when you cut between the leg and the thigh. Remove the turkey to a cutting board and cover with aluminum foil; let rest for 20 minutes.

Stir the vegetables and return the pan to the oven. Continue to cook the vegetables while the turkey rests. Slice the turkey and serve on a platter with the roasted vegetables. Serves 8.

Thanksgiving suggestions or recipes?
I'll be hosting Thanksgiving this year too.

For the Turkey, first of all you really should Brine the turkey. I'll be using Williams-Sonoma turkey brine. Brining will ensure you get a juicy tasty turkey. When you're ready to cook it, pat the turkey dry, and slather it with room-temperature butter. In a saucepan melt 3 sticks of butter with 1 bottle of your favorite white wine. Dip 6 cheesecloths in the wine-butter mix and cover the turkey with it. Bake at 400 degrees for the first 30 minutes, and then lower the oven temp to 325, and continue basting every 30 minutes with the wine-butter mixture.
The very best hams are the ones from a genuine Honey-Baked Ham store; and they'll come with the glaze on them (just reheat) and pre-sliced around the bone. They're pricey, but well worth the money! ..... The very easiest way to cook a turkey is to buy a Reynold's Turkey Bag (on the wrap aisle- near saran/foil) and follow the directions. It will keep it incredibly moist, cut the cooking time, and there's no mess! The easiest way to season it is to rub with some olive oil and sprinkle a package of dry onion soup mix all over (and inside) and sprinkle with a little sage. The jars of Heinz turkey gravy are just as good as homemade:) ......
heres some easy side dishes for you..also make ahead as much as possible, dinner rolls, mashed ppotatoes, gravy, all the things that can be reheated easily...cheese and meat veggie and cracker trays make a great start..==

The Turkey you cut from the meatest section, remember to add water so the Turkey does not dry out.

Ham if it is a spiral ham you would start from the outside and work your way in.

Make sure you have a great carving knife.

Also very easy sausage stuffing.

1pkg of Peppridge Farm Stuffing

1 lb of ground sausage

Cook both according to package mix together delicious!

Pampered Chef sells these tongs so you can pick up your Turkey and put it on a nice platter.
Make sure that your ham or turkey is completely thawed. Wash and clean meat. I've cooked a turkey more times than I've cooked ham, so here is my recipe: Rub melted butter all over turkey, then salt and pepper. I always use a baking bag. Bake at 350 degrees for 3-6 hours, depending on turkey size. Here are some side items to go along;
