Any thanksgiving pie recipes i can make?

i need a good pie i can make for thanksgivingAny thanksgiving pie recipes i can make?
This is a very good and very easy apple pie recipe. My brother-in-law's wife gave me the recipe. It makes a very moist and flavorful pie. The crust is patted into the pan instead of rolling it out and having problems with that. The apples are shredded and mixed with the seasonings so you won't have a bite that doesn't have all the flavorful seasoning on it. It is a hit each Thanksgiving. I've been making it now for about 7 years.

Crust:

1 1/4 c flour

1/2 tsp salt

2 T sugar

1/2 c butter

1 T vinegar

Filling:

1 c sugar

2 T flour

3 c coarsely grated apples

1/2 tsp cinnamon

Put all the crust ingredients except vinegar in a bowl and mix until crumbly. Stir in the vinegar. Save 1/2 c of the mix for the top. Pat the rest into a pie plate and at lest 1'; up the sides.

Mix all the filling ingredients together and pour into the pie shell. Sprinkle with the remaining saved 1/2 c of crust mix over the apples. Bake in preheated 350潞 for 1 hour and 10 minutes. Remove from the oven and sift powdered sugar over the top or serve with whipped cream. Serves 8.

I generally serve this pie cold but it is good both ways.Any thanksgiving pie recipes i can make?

Reviewed on Dec. 1, 2003 by Gordon Absolutely delicious, but very rich--a small piece goes a long way. A couple of reviewers noted that melting the caramels took a long time. Five to seven minutes over low heat is not long. I cut the sugar down to 1/2 cup, may cut it a little more the next time. The amount of filling was perfect for the 9 inch shallow pie crust--just handle carefully, and put a round pizza pan in the oven while preheating, and place the pie on the pan. My friends and family raved about the pie. I am 73 years old, an accomplished cook and baker, and will definitely make this again for special occassions. Thanks Corwynn for sharing this recipe with us. Chef Gordon.
