Ingredients required:

1/2 cup water

1/2 cup warm milk

1 egg

1/3 cup butter or margarine, softened

1/3 cup sugar

1 teaspoon salt

3 3/4 cups all-purpose flour (NOT bread flour!)

1 package dry yeast (2 1/4 tsp)

1/4 cup butter or margarine

Method:

1 Place all ingredients except the 1/4 cup butter into bread machine in the order recommended by the manufacturer.

2 Select the dough cycle and start machine.

3 Shape dough into 20 to 24 balls and place in buttered pan (s).

4 Melt the 1/4 cup butter and brush it over the tops of rolls, saving the excess for brushing on after baking.

5 Cover and let rise in a warm place about 1 hour, or until double in bulk.

6 Bake at 375 degrees F for 15 to 18 minutes.

7 Brush baked rolls with remaining butter.
